Something to eat,
Something to read,
Something to play with
Something you need.
Something you need.
I asked my husband if he had any ideas for a "something to eat" gift. His suggestion was a box of cereal. "That way you can take care of all of it, they can eat the cereal, read the back of the box, play with the toy inside, and they won't need breakfast and you probably have a ton of cereal coupons, right? It will be the cheapest Christmas ever!"Very creative, but not exactly what I had in mind.
So....he came up with this great idea: We printed certificates on our computer for each of our children entitling them to one favorite homemade meal. They can choose breakfast, lunch or dinner and their certificate includes a special shopping trip with mom to choose the ingredients of their meal. I rolled them up like scrolls and tied them with ribbon. I'm looking for some small boxes to put them in, but haven't had any luck with that yet! Stay tuned for Part 3-"Something to read". Have a great day! :)

I would never have thought that 'something to eat' could be so interesting -- what fun. Maybe I'll do that for R too :P. Except that he won't want to go shopping. And he always picks the meals anyway . . . hmmm.
Heidi: LOL! You are right-this particular gift might not be a good fit for R! :)
An idea for the "scrolls": After tying a pretty ribbon on them, and a nametag with each child's name on it, then put them in the branches of the Christmas tree! I've always loved the idea of having presents ON the tree. Just an idea.
Ann-That's a great idea!!! I thought about tying a candy cane to each of them as well~thanks so much! Now I can suspend my box search.
